We arrived in Hurley, Mississippi on January 3 to work on Full Life AOG church. The plans right now are to be here through the 3rd week in March. It seems to have rained here everyday. I feel like mold and mildew may be lurking. Today we were under a tornado watch. We saw no tornado, but had lots of heavy rain and lightning. I had my surgery on the Wednesday before Christmas. Everything went as good as could be expected. Will probably have a follow up with the surgeon this week. Our youngest daughter had surgery a week ago. She is making great progress. We stayed at the Kentucky Horse Park for a couple of days so that we could visit some of Allan's relatives. We both enjoy the Horse Park and try to go there every year. There was a biker's rally across the street while we were having a band camp. It was a little noisy, but all is well at Camp Cedaredge. The guys have been working hard at different jobs the last few weeks. The security gate broke so Allan and Richard spent most of the day repairing it. Last week we took a trip to Marble, Co. On the way we saw very dry areas, but many beautiful, green areas that are being irrigated. We passed several active coal mines. There is still snow visable on the higher mountains, but in one of the pictures part of the white you see is marble. The town of Marble's elevation is about 8000 feet. This week is the first Kid's Camp. They number close to 200. Allan has been doing miscellaneous repairs and serving food at meal time. I have been working in the kitchen. The weather has been perfect. It is cool at night and is beginning to warm up in the day. It is averaging 80/50. The snow is melting in the mountains and is causing some flooding in some areas. We have not had a problem yet. The creek behind our RV gives us such a restful sleep each night. The camp manager told us they learned that this creek has overflowed so we will be keeping a watch on it.

Near Moab and Arches is another national park called Canyonlands. We visited there on Wednesday. The central theme here is a view very much like the Grand Canyon. I mentioned in a previous post that we have a pasture of goats, a sheep and a horse. One of the goats had triplets a few days ago. I have not been able to see them other than from a distance. I did get one picture but you have to use your imagination if you want to see three babies. The mare just stands over them and keeps an eye on them like they are hers. Much to our relief we received a call from our middle daughter, April, saying she made it home to Alabama last night after driving in ice and snow from Oregon.Allan came back to the RV soon after lunch saying he had cut his finger on some metal. It needed stitches so we headed to the nearest hospital in Jay, Florida. After about 2 1/2 hours he was all sutured, bandaged and ready to go home.

At 10 PM we had to take away Katie's food for her teeth cleaning the following morning. By morning she was climbing her cat food bags trying to get my attention. We located Chapel of Hope and found Jim and Jackie here. We have worked on 3 projects with them now. We will be working with Phil and Carolyn during our two week stay here. Monday we drove 145 miles on the Bear Tooth Highway and Chief Joseph Scenic Highway which took us into Wyoming and back to Montana. It was an all day trip going up and down the mountains and around the curves, making lots of stops for pictures and just enjoying more of God's creation. The weather is warming up to the 80's during the day, but most nights are in the upper 40's. On Friday, Allan drove into Butte to visit the mining museum. We have made numerous stops since our last post. We drove to Kalispell to meet some Boomers who were camped at the Elk's Lodge. Dick and Carolyn, Barry and Cindy, and Allan and Jeanne went out to eat at a Pizza Restaurant and had a nice chat afterwards. It is always good to meet new people and hope to see them down the road. All the women were left handed and all the men were right handed.

We spent the day in Glacier National Park. We visited here about 8 years ago in the fall. At that time there was less snow, but they were working on the Road to the Sun like they are today. The avalanches and running water are hard on the road. Glacier provides a bus free of charge to numerous stops in the park. They run about every 15-30 minutes. Family Camp began on Sunday. We attended the church services at the camp and then set out our chairs at our RV to watch the fire works. They were at the lake's edge. Also quite a few of the home owners in the area had their own show which we got to enjoy. From 2010-07-05Monday we worked at the camp and got the truck and RV ready for travel. We said our good byes Monday night and Tuesday morning.

We went to church in the rain. It never warmed up much. We had an enjoyable time today despite the rain. Our friends, Ken and Bea from the cruise, are camping nearby. The Island Princess provided us with lots of entertainment, food and shopping. We attended several dance classes for line dancing and cha cha. The Island Princess, the ship we sailed on, docked in Vancouver, BC on Monday about 7:30 AM.
