Glenn, Richard and Allan were all aching from working so long hours that they took the afternoon off and went fishing up on the Grand Mesa. The mosquitoes were many in number. They got more bites from the mosquitoes than the fish. Allan and Glenn caught a mess of rainbow and cutthroat trout. They do plan to try it again before we leave.

The kitties are growing and are very active. I think mom is trying to wean them. She has brought them squirrel and birds that I have seen. They are a hungry bunch. I have enjoyed watching them play with each other. We have one male and three females.
Allan says he has seen three marmots in the rock area near the dining hall.
Alice and I have been watering the plants and trees, feeding the cats and working in the kitchen. Today, we were able to open the doors to let some cool air in because we had a big, heavy rain with hail. The kitchen gets pretty hot with all the ovens going. They have a swamp cooler that helps some.
Alice and I went to the library today to return our books and get more. I left with an arm load. We will go back on Friday to attend a Genealogy Meeting which I am looking forward to that. I also listened to a Genealogy Webinar today on my lunch hour.
Last Saturday we drove to Grand Junction for some errands and ate at Olive Garden. This was my first big meal with increased fat content since my trip to the Emergency Room for my gall bladder. I had no ill effects and boy was it good!! We got a late start, but after our errands we headed for the Cliff Book Wild Horse Refuge. It took about an hour to drive to the small town
and last sight of civilization until you would reach the refuge. It was 20 miles from there. This is a 4 wheel drive road and pretty rough in spots. It was neat scenery, but we had to travel so slowly we only made 9 miles. It was after 6pm with threatening storms so we turned around. Allan said we averaged about 10mph on the road. Maybe I can talk him in to trying it again next weekend.
There is a band camp this week and we have enjoyed hearing them play. They are very polite kids. Their schedule is very full and are getting lots accomplished.
There is a biker's rally at the RV camp across the street this weekend. Sounds like quite a few have already arrived.
