CANADA

Last week we took a trip to Canada.  Apparently they have moose there, too.  Just before entering Grand Falls we noticed two deer down a dirt road.  We were able to get a few shots of them before they disappeared into the dense trees and bushes.  The deer looked very healthy and fat.

I was very surprised to see most signs and info in English and French in the province of New Brunswick.  (Even at McDonalds)
The McDonalds was much larger with more rooms rather than open sections like we see in the U.S.  Nice!  We met a couple from Canada with no accent who take people out to hunt bear and deer.

The volume of water going over Grand Falls was minute at this time of year.  This falls in the Spring is suppose to have almost as much water as Niagara Falls.  You can see men working on the gates to the dam.  They have a zip line.  You can barely make out the person crossing on the line.

From there we drove back to the U.S. and made it in time to see the Potato Blossom Festival Parade in Fort Fairfield.  It was the usual small town parade with horses, tractors, bands and floats.  We did see Miss Maine.

These last pictures show our RVers working and the progress they have made.  It was only a shell when we arrived, but the building is coming together nicely.  The back classrooms are painted.  Don and Allan have been working together on hanging sheet rock, but there is still quite a bit more to do.  The only problem with that is Don and Carol are leaving tomorrow.  We have two more RVers who were scheduled to come, but one is definitely not coming and the other one is in Oregon due to a family emergency.  Jerry and several of the ladies finished painting the pipes on Friday for the sprinkler system.

All that work being done reminds me that we start a project one week from today in WY. Ah, the rest has been nice the last several weeks but time to make ourselves useful.

Maine is probably great this time of year.
