CATCH UP WITH PICTURES

I wanted to catch you up on a few pictures.  From our last post I mentioned about the weather causing us delays due to flooding and snow.  These are pictures of the entrance into the RV park at the casino in Caruthersville, Mo. and the river.  Strange that all the gates on the levees were closed except this one.  We wondered whether we might return here and find our RV washed down the Mississippi River.  Allan kept an eye on it.  No problems.

Scenic Park is where we camped in South Sioux City, Ne. for a get together with some of Allan's high school classmates.  We had a nice dinner out with them in Sioux City, Iowa.  This RV park was destroyed by flooding from the Missouri River in 2011.  They have made lots of improvements.

Our next extended stop was Rapid City, S. D.  Our main purpose was to change our residency to South Dakota which we did.  We both now have S.D. driver's license and tags.  I wasn't sure if I could get health insurance, but it appears that will be no problem.  We could not find my Social Security card so I had to go to the Federal building in Rapid City to visit the IRS to get a paper verifying my SS number.  Upon entering the building we had to go through a metal detector.  Well to my surprise I set it off.  I had forgotten about my knee replacement.

We spent several days touring Custer State Park.  By vegetation and especially deciduous trees South Dakota looked more like winter, but by the babies running around it showed Spring was there.  We saw many bison, prairie dogs, pronghorns, mountain goats, and a marmot that Allan got an excellent picture of with his new camera.

We took a dirt road and came upon a horse camp.  It brought back memories of camping with our horses.

While driving on the interstate we were passed by 12 corvettes.  They were nice.  They were probably going to a car show or rally.

Here is my husband.  It's not that we can't afford money for a haircut.   He has decided to grow it long and donate it to "Lock for Love", if he can stand it until it grows long enough to pull back.  He really has wavy hair.

More to post later.  See you down the road.

Gotta love SD. And as SD residents since 2010 (well sort of) welcome to the state.

This is the most awesome thing I've ever heard. People usually assume that only women and girls grow their hair long and donate to "Locks of Love". I am deeply touched that he is doing this! Now can we get more men out there to join the cause!?

Welcome to the neighborhood. I would say neighbors, but you went clear across the state.

Alan has that 70's look going great.
