Recovery from Surgery

I had my surgery and have been back for my one week check. Stitches are out. I have some swelling in my leg and some discomfort, but over all this knee surgery has gone much better. They changed my pain medication to something not so strong and I had started my exercises before the surgery. I think this made a world of difference to my recovery. I have had less bruising and no nausea or vomiting. Praise the Lord.

Katie likes her view from her window and we have taken her over to Yancy's house so she can have a different place to explore. Last night we watched the movie Australia. Katie checked everything out in the finished room in the basement and then settled down at the back of Allan's head and then on my lap while the movie was on.

Allan has been busy making all the repairs and improvements to Yancy's house. Scott, Yancy's boyfriend, laid the pavers for her patio and walkway. Allan will be busy this week on insulation and plumbing modifications. Allan has worked on Venus' house doing gutter work, plumbing and cutting down a tree.

We enjoyed a nice meal with Pam and Ron Mays. We missed seeing their 7 puppies as they were all sold before we arrived. Supper at the Top of the River in Gadsden last night was good. We met Scott's parents and aunt there. His parents had traveled out West this summer on their Gold Wing and his aunt has been all over the US and other countries. It was a nice time to exchange travel stories. I was able to spend a few hours with Nancy Jackson, the first person I met, when we moved to Alabama. We had such a good time.

We have had some beautiful weather and some cold and rainy weather. Flowers and trees are starting to bloom here.
