We have been behind on our pictures for the blog. Check back on last entry. We have added lots of pictures of our trip to Boston.
Yesterday we drove to Mount Desert Island and stopped at the town of Bar Harbor. We walked, shopped and drove around the city. Yancy and I went into two dog and cat specialty stores which were a treat. We did not drive to Bar Island as the road was under water. You can drive there only during low tide.We drove the park loop road. It feels like we are in another country because the views are so different from what we have previously experienced. The coastlines are rocky with some being steep and jagged. They are heavily forested with mountains in contrast to flat topography we saw in Savannah and Charleston. There are very few sandy beaches. Yancy has really enjoyed our trip. It is much cooler here than in Alabama. She is not looking forward to returning to work. The people have been very nice and helpful. We drove up Cadillac Mountain in the middle of the island at 1530 feet. What a view.
