Here are a few pictures from our stay at Yakima River RV Park from Wednesday night. We had a view of pastures of cows and horses.
They even have a place for your horse if he is traveling with you.
Allan caught me talking to the resident goat.
As we traveled on to our destination the landscape changed drastically. It is an arid region with fewer trees and lots of sagebrush type bushes.
We did see large areas of irrigated farmland. Along the interstate in a section they had signs posted of what was growing in that particular field.
We arrived at Silver Lake Camp Thursday afternoon.
It is a beautiful area and we have a great view of the lake which is located just outside Medicine Lake, Washington. We got set up and were invited for taco supper with the group.
After supper we walked around the campground and got some pictures of the area. We identified an osprey, yellow-headed black bird and red-winged blackbird. We were told that they have deer that come around and sure enough we saw a young buck visiting before dark.
There will be more people arriving this weekend for Friends of Silver Lake week who will be working on remodeling of the cabins and miscellaneous repairs.
Friday I spent most of the day washing clothes from our Alaskan trip. Allan went to work with the guys. He worked on the bathrooms they are adding in the cabins. He came home for lunch and on his way out he fell and twisted his ankle. He went back to work but in about an hour he was back in pain. I got him ice and Advil and he propped his foot up. It is blue and swollen. Hopefully, it is only turned and not broken. We had planned to drive into Spokane on Saturday but we will have to see how he is doing in the morning.
