IT IS WARMING UP

Monday was a cold rainy day. We have over 300 kids here and the serving of the first two meals went smoothly. They will be here until Saturday.

We stopped at the post office. I got a hair cut and Allan went back to the store where he bought his used phone because it was not holding a charge. They did not have a battery so they let him choose another phone. He likes this phone better. He took it to Verizon where they activated it. We also made a stop at Wal-Mart.

I contacted a relative that I had never met who lives in Missouri. Her husband has been doing some genealogy research on the family. He emailed me some info and I have been spending all my free time working on that. I will be emailing him some information he does not have on my mother's family.

Tuesday, we took the truck in for an oil change. Our friends, Ken and Bea picked us up and took us to their RV park. Daisy their dog greeted us with lots of kisses.

We played pickle ball (our first time). They were very patient with us. We went to Safeway for lunch. Had a great sandwich. Then we made a quick stop at Wal-Mart. They dropped us off at the Freightliner dealer. Thanks Ken and Bea for such a nice day.

Wednesday and Thursday have been warmer and everyone is complaining of humidity. We can hardly feel it since we are from Alabama. Allan is repairing a roof on a cabin and I am finishing up most of the weed mat and bark jobs.

Today we went out on a boat on Silver Lake. It was beautiful. We toured the whole lake and saw many beautiful homes. We saw an osprey and a heron. A great ending for a great day.

After working hard and in the sun yesterday I took a shower early and went to bed with my computer. I turned the small overhead reading light on and propped up on my pillows. I got tired and turned off the computer and started with zzzzz's. It stormed during the night. About 6 AM we were awakened to an alarm that beeped twice. I got up but could not see anything. Upon returning to the bed room I noticed the reading light was still on. It was so hot to the touch when I cut it off. Then I noticed the pillows were all piled up next to the light and then found a burnt hole in the pillow case and pillow. Thank you God for protecting us from ourselves. We could have had a bad fire. I will not be using that light again.
