I mentioned in a previous post that we have a pasture of goats, a sheep and a horse. One of the goats had triplets a few days ago. I have not been able to see them other than from a distance. I did get one picture but you have to use your imagination if you want to see three babies. The mare just stands over them and keeps an eye on them like they are hers. It will be interesting to watch them grow.
One of our couples have just returned from Missouri and brought us ice. Apparently they had some cold, icy weather while there.
I think we have 18 rigs here. One man is a widower and the rest are couples which adds up to 35 workers. Of course, the men do most of the work but we women have job security as we have to clean up after them.
Allan and I drove to Montgomery, Al. on Saturday to attend the Alabama Horse Council Fair, a yearly event. I got to see many of my horse ladies who I used to ride with when I was with horse. That was a treat. They have all kinds of seminars, exhibitions and horse equipment to buy. We watched the stick horse race which was for youngsters without horses.
They had a 19 year old young man who did rope and bull whip tricks. He was good.
Craig Cameron, a well known horse trainer, was there giving demonstrations and answering questions from the crowd. It is amazing what he did with a rank horse in such a short time. The horse was not paying any attention to him and getting in his space, a rather dangerous position to be in. When it was over he had the horse standing quietly, had him saddled and ridden and had him laying down on the ground with Craig right beside him. It was a respect and trust between man and beast.
They had a cowboy mounted shooting event which we really enjoyed. We both would love to do this. They ride horses, shooting at balloons. They are timed and scored for accuracy of their shooting skills. It is made up of men, woman and children of all ages riding different breeds of horses. I apologize for the poor quality of pictures but they are taken from quite a distance, in low light and lots of smoke in the air from the gunpowder.

Congratulations concerning the triplets! We will be looking forward to seeing more pictures as you are able to get them. Being “old” farmers ourselves, we are always interested in seeing new babies. Sure looks like you two are staying busy this winter, hopefully the wx will warm up soon. Also, thanks for the nice comment and thank you for “following” my blog too!
