Monday after Mother's Day we left Alabama heading west. We did not see the terrible destruction of Tuscaloosa, but there were many trees down along the interstate for miles and miles from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa. As we got a late start we ended up stopping for the night earlier than we planned. The drive was good and so was the ride. Enjoying our MH. Allan did have an accident. When he opened the door to the refrigerator, his bottle of hot sauce (glass) fell onto the tile floor and broke. What a mess. We got that cleaned up quickly and moved on. He opened the door again and out came the soy sauce. We spent the night in Meridian, Ms.
Tuesday we drove to Rushton, La. We parked at Lincoln Parrish Park. We were greeted by 3 ducks who wanted a handout. They really knew how to work it.
The park was on a pretty lake. It was very peaceful.
Allan went out to eat crayfish. That is just not my thing. We had been told by friends not to cross the Mississippi River at Memphis so we chose Vicksburg, Ms. The river was over its banks, but the roads were open.
This picture is at the welcome center entering Louisiana.
Wednesday we drove to Greenville, Tx. We had planned to go into Dallas but due to bad weather we chose to go north of Dallas. This is a picture of what we were driving into.
We had to pull over about 10 minutes before reaching our RV park. The wind was gusting and rain was heavy. Unfortunately it did not totally stop raining all night so Allan had to set up in the rain. He was not a happy camper.
Thursday we made it to Vernon, Tx. Our RV park was next to a Wal-Mart. Very convenient, but the W/M did not have a number of items we usually buy there.
Friday we made it to Amarillo, Tx and spent the night at the Amarillo Ranch RV Park. This was parked out front.
It is a pretty nice place. They even have an indoor pool. We had stayed there once before. Allan had a rough time keeping the MH in the road. The wind and gusts were very strong. It also caused him to slow down making us later getting in. Allan and I went out to eat at the Big Texan Steakhouse. Their were two men on the platform who were competing for the 72 oz. steak. They had an hour to eat the steak and all the fixin's. If they fail to eat it, they have to pay $1 per oz. for the steak. otherwise they get it free. One man made it, but the other one didn't. After they declared him a winner, he lost his steak in a bucket.
Here is a picture of Allan under the sink installing our reverse osmosis system. Katie tried to help.
Katie already has a routine. She hides behind the couch while we drive. She has a can of cat food after we stop for the night. Then she spends a good bit of her time in the window in front. She also likes to go down the steps and look out the doggy window as I call it.

Glad y'all are enjoying new motor home. Nancy and I really related to the refrigerator accidents. The first trip we ever took in a motor home; we kept forgetting to lock the refrigerator door and we had several similar breakages. It was a rented Allegro with shag carpet and we had to come home early to clean carpet.
Have Fun and be Safe!!!
Terry and Nancy
