The weather was much better today. No rain or wind. We crossed over the continental divide. While driving on I-10 we stopped off for a Subway sandwich for our lunch, got back on the Interstate and drove only for a few minutes to find the traffic was stopped! Allan listened on the CB which told us that there was an 18 wheeler turned over across both lanes and it probably would be hours before they could open the road again. We were stopped just before an exit and Allan decided to follow the truckers. It was not long before we found ourselves back on the Interstate.
We could see mountain ranges with snow on top.
Our truck has been climbing in elevation. We started at Midland, Tx with an elevation 848 feet and Benson is 3586 feet. As we approached Benson we came down off a plateau into a valley.
We are staying in the Saguaro Escapees Campground and will be here a few days.
