Saturday we got caught up on our sleep. We decided to take a drive around Phoenix. Phoenix is in a big, flat valley with mountains surrounding it. It is very pretty in a desert setting.
The southwest has had some beautiful artwork on their over passes. I have not been able to get many pictures though.
This is one of the swollen rivers. There is a road down there covered with water.
After church we drove to Congress, Az. to visit Rollie and Gina Thurston whom we met two years ago at the RV Dreams Rally in Branson, Mo. They also have an Excel fifth wheel, but have a heavy duty Volvo truck, bigger than ours. We got a tour of the truck and trailer. The truck has a sleeper with refrigerator, microwave, TV as well as a big storage area behind with solar panels so they can boondock. Some other friends of ours were staying at the Escapees park, Mike and Pat McFall. We purchased our Pressure Pro air monitoring system from them two years ago in South Dakota. Rollie grilled sausage and hamburgers which were delicious. Gina and Pat prepared complementary dishes and we enjoyed every bite. They enjoy staying at this campground because of the high desert scenery and friendliness of the park. Pat and Mike have four-wheelers that they take out exploring the desert. While we sat outside, we noticed many Gambel's quail and bunny rabbits. Allan got some pictures of flowers and cactus in the campground. As we departed, Gina gave us some pineapple upside down cake and homemade jelly and green beans. Gina is known to be an excellent cook too and we can attest to that. Thanks for such a good time guys.

We really enjoyed having y'all over and hearing about your fulltime adventures. Looking forward to when our paths can cross again as y'all continue serving the Lord. Love In Christ, Rollie & Gina
While there try to see supertition mountain and do the apache trail. When we did it they told us the desert was going to be in bloom in about two weeks. They are on the outskirts of Mesa. A Trip worth taking
