We had a funny thing happen yesterday. As I was going out our door, Dexter was on the top step. Attempting to gain my balance after trying to miss the cat, I saw a dark streak run into our trailer. It was another cat. I got the word "no" out and the cat came running back out the door with Katie chasing him. Good girl Katie! Katie rules the roost. She has been keeping an eye on us with all these cats around. I believe she may be telling us she wants this to be a one cat family.
We drove to Emerald Isle to the beach. They were using old Christmas trees to build sand dunes and stop erosion. There were kites being flown. The wind was blowing strong; a good day for kites. See the slide show. It was too cold to stay around for very long even though there were a few crazy kids in the water.
Our week included construction for Allan (installed finish paneling on front desk, installed finished plastic paneling in dog kennel, and installed finish Masonite paneling in cat room of hurricane building-glued no nails). Jeanne helped in surgery, planted garden, washed windows, helped with heart worm clinic. We both talked and played with the dogs and cats. We said our goodbyes today. Lynn, veterinarian, and Linda, manager, have worked many hours for a noble cause. Safe Harbor Farm has saved many animals' lives. Hope we can go back some day.
While we were preparing the trailer for moving, Katie figured out we were leaving today so she hid under the bed. Allan had to pull her out, but unfortunately she got grease on her back from the slide mechanism. Katie got a bath tonight. She was not real happy about the bath but she did cooperate quite well.
On our way to Virginia Beach, Va we traveled through the Dismal Swamp. We saw signs for bear crossings. Wish I had my camera in hand.

Now that's funny - poor Katie!! She didn't look too happy. Did you manage to get all the grease off her? Ha-Ha......Mr. Puss would have just had grease on him for all eternity - not going to attempt to give that furry devil a bath!! :-) Love yall
