Safe Harbor Farm now located on 61 acres in Maysville, NC is where we are volunteering for this week. They are trying to spay and neuter as many dogs and cats as they can. The Kindness Clinic offers these services for minimal fees. Although they have hired contractors to do some work, they have relied on volunteers for much of the installation and upkeep of the property. The Cat House houses indoor cats and post surgical/isolation areas. The Kindness Clinic is located in a 100 year old Catholic church which was moved to the property. They added a second floor apartment for the manager. Just recently the Hurricane Building was erected. This building is used for meetings, has washer and dryer for the workampers and will have areas for cats and dogs during severe weather. There is a nice pond near the clinic.
