It seems to have rained here everyday. I feel like mold and mildew may be lurking. Today we were under a tornado watch. We saw no tornado, but had lots of heavy rain and lightning. It was a lake around our MH. I made a dash to the church kitchen for break time. Surprise! I didn't melt. It is way too warm for me. We will be leaving for Birmingham tomorrow afternoon where the temperatures will be cooler. We will return on Monday.
When it rains Katie must think the sky is falling, because she hides under the couch. Scaredy Cat.
The storms moved on and we had a break from the rain. When Allan got off work, we drove down to the walking park. It is several miles down the road, but a nice park for all kinds of activities.

PLAYING CATCH UP
We have had poor reception for our TV, phone and internet here at this job in Mississippi. It has made it almost impossible to post. Also, I have a new computer and I am having to learn how to get my pictures over so I can use it for blogging.
Our first picture is where we were parked in our daughter's driveway and our view. Her house in on top of a ridge with a slanting driveway, thus our MH is jacked up in front.
I had gone shopping and bought some material. I have to have something to try out my Christmas present on (sewing machine). Here is Katie just making herself at home in my new material.
We have made some changes in our MH. Allan spent a week at Red Bay, Al. at the Tiffin factory in November. This is our old booth dinette.
Here is what we replaced it with. We can actually sit at the table for a meal if we want to (this may never happen). I am excited about the desk. I have a place for my computer and printer and lots of storage with two large drawers.
We took out one couch on the drivers side and replaced it with two Euro recliners.
Back in the bedroom we replaced our old small tv with a 26" flat screen and had a special cabinet made for it. The cabinet has space behind for storage of Allan's "junk" that he usually leaves out on the dresser.
We had the small hamper taken out and a storage cabinet made for our books.
Allan was very pleased with the service we received at Tiffin. There was a design issue where the roof was developing small cracks on the radius so they cut out the old sections, replaced them and repainted the roof areas. They also took out the flooring under the tank area and put in a new flooring with a new design sloped toward the drain so there should be no more problems. He had a few minor things fixed while he was there.

SWITCHED LOCATIONS
We have settled into our new project. Allan is putting up drywall and other odd jobs. I took pictures, but failed to bring the camera with me so still no pictures on our blog. I have been busy packing and unpacking and cooking several dishes for Allan to heat up while I am gone. We took a ride into the western part of Mobile for a Wal-Mart fix. Saturday we drove to Pascagula and Ocean Springs, Mississippi to check out the area.
Sunday I left for Alabama to spend a week with Yancy, our daughter. Due to both of our surgeries, we had very little time to get our "list of things to do" done so I find myself back at her house, The drive seemed long with an occasional rain, but was rather uneventful. It was dark by the time I arrived in Birmingham so I met Yancy and Brian at church.
Monday, Yancy was off, so we started on errands that were on our list. We bought material to make curtains for her laundry area. The day was successful but not long enough to get everything done. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
Today I drove to Hoover and Alabaster to visit with a friend, Nancy. My old Bunco group was meeting at her house tonight. Wish I could have stayed and played. I made a stop at North Shelby Family Health where I used to work before becoming a gypsy. It was good to see everyone. It was another rainy day, but I was able to run into several different stores to pick up a few things we needed without getting soaked.
Our plans are never written in stone as things change very frequently. This year our plan is to be in Mississippi for 3 months and then travel to the Sarasota area to visit Allan's brother and his family. After that, we will start heading for Maine to work there June, July and August. The plan is to come back to Alabama and stay for 3 months rather than 2.
As I was saying things change sometimes. Today I made some phone calls to coordinate an endoscopy that my daughter is to have in March and the TMJ surgery for me. When I saw the doctor in November he told me the surgery would be done as an outpatient. Today I found out I would have to return to his office rather frequently for a year. That will be hard to do from Maine. Now I have to gather more information and regroup. I would love to do our plan and then have the surgery in October, but I am not sure I can wait that long.

MISSISSIPPI
We woke up to a cold morning. The wind blew so bad that we pulled in our slides last night. Katie went for a ride at the thru of McDonalds with us this morning. She got up in the window on the driver's side, apparently trying to put her order in, too. Allan dropped me off at the out patient services at the hospital in Alabaster. We got a much needed oil change for the Jeep on our way back to the RV and then headed for Mississippi. It was windy and cold, but uneventful. We pulled into the parking lot of the church just before sunset. Bedtime will come earlier tonight.

WE ARE ON THE MOVE AGAIN
It feels strange to be moving. We have been in one spot for a while. Sad to leave our family, but exciting to start a new church build. Allan has to come back to Birmingham for a VA appointment he could not get scheduled while we were here. At least we are not too far to make the drive which will be about 4 hours.
We left our daughters house in no rush this morning since we were only driving about 50 miles to the Camping World in Calera, Alabama. We were very low on LP and had a full black tank. Tonight is suppose to be below freezing and the wind is blowing big time. We may pull our slides in as the toppers are really flapping.
Tomorrow I have to make a quick stop at the hospital for a test and then we are on our way to Hurley, Mississippi. Looks like it will be a little warmer down there. It is only about 15 miles from Mobile.
We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and blessings for the year.
