The four of us rode to the top of Killington Mountain on the gondola on Friday thanks to Christina, our ranger. We did not realize how high this mountain stands. Rain was predicted and we were trying to beat the rain. There were such beautiful views even though it was cloudy and windy and much COLDER up on the mountain. We went inside for hot chocolate. Before we left the clouds enveloped the top of the mountain and it began to rain. Each gondola is painted differently. Gifford Woods State Park elevation is 1660 ft. The base of Killington ski lift is 2200 ft. The top of Killington Mtn is 4241 ft.
Mountain bikers were riding the gondola to the top and then riding their bikes down the steep trails. The thrill of being young.
From there we drove on a scenic hwy. through farmland and over the mountains. We stopped at Middlebury College Snow Bowl to see Sean whom we worked with at the park this summer. It was great to see him again. We stopped in Brandon to eat lunch and show Pam and Ron the quaint town. We visited the Marble Museum in Proctor and photographed Sutherland Falls- 118 ft. and several covered bridges.
This is an Episcopal Church in Brandon.
Marble bridge in Proctor near the museum.
Do you think this golf cart can pull our rig? Not.
Saturday we rested and played catch up as we will be moving the RV on Monday to our new site.
Sunday we went to church and said our goodbyes in case we leave early due to snow. Snow is predicted for three days this week. Pictures will be forthcoming if that occurs. I am so happy to be caught up with the blog and our pictures. Hope you enjoy the colors.
Katie is becoming a lap cat. I think she is looking for the warmest spot. The lows are in the 20s now. She is entertained by the falling leaves. Wish I could get a video of that. It is funny to watch her bat at the leaves and duck when one drops down near the trailer.
