I got a Facebook message from a high school friend, Liz McCarver. She and three sisters were nearby so we got together for a time of reminiscing about old times back in Missouri. We got some pictures but unfortunately I failed to put the card back in the camera. The pictures are in the camera but I can't find the correct cord to attach to the computer to get the pictures out.
Our next stop was in Mojave, California for an over night stay. The wind blew so hard and the trailer was rocking. This was the first time we put in the slides due to weather.
The next day the wind had decreased considerably so we decided to try the Tehachapi Pass. We got some pictures of snow on the mountains.
As we were traveling over the pass we could see many wind generators rotating fast. God must have been holding back the winds where we were traveling. We came upon a plateau area which was green and trees with leaves. It was like a different world.
As we started our decent down the mountain (22 miles of 4-6% grade) we ran into thick fog.
The grade wasn't bad as we had imagined. Allan did a great job maneuvering the truck and trailer.
We are camping in Park of Sierra in Coarsegold for about a week. We are very pleased with our site and everyone is very friendly. Today we attended Easter service at Lighthouse AOG in town. They had a breakfast after the service. We attended a potluck at the campground for an Easter meal this afternoon.
The weather here is cool and it has started raining. We will have to wait a few days to visit Yosemite as it is suppose to snow tonight and tomorrow on the mountain we have to cross.
By the way, I am feeling almost 100% better. My sinuses started clearing up as we entered California.
