Yesterday, Allan and I attended Parkway Christian Center in Grants Pass, Oregon. We were thoroughly blessed by the message. We returned to the RV, had a quick lunch, did our departing check off list and hit the road. The road we chose contained a number of steep climbs and descents. We are glad we had the exhaust brakes. Because of our GPS not working and the map was not up to date because of road work, we made a loop three times getting off I -5. The grade book did not show anymore mountain passes so we thought the rest of the trip would be a piece of cake. Wrong! We had more climbs and descents although with the exhaust brakes Allan did a beautiful job. Our GPS started working again and took us down a two-lane road that was very narrow with twists and turns with no shoulder. We had a lot of oncoming traffic, too. Allan was a tired puppy after this drive. Even Katie was impatient on the last leg of our travels yesterday.
We plan to spend several days here at Bullard Beach State Park due to rain. Looks like we will be doing a lot of much needed indoor activities this week. No TV reception.
This morning we slept in late due to every ones exhaustion. We were able to walk to the beach and get some pictures before the rain started. It was predicted for earlier rain, but God is good even in the little things that allow us to enjoy His creation. The light house has been restored and is no longer in use.
The wind is really blowing and the waves are big and crashing against the sea wall.
We found lots of tree debris on the beach.
I saw another seal or sea lion pop his head up but no picture again. This is sounding like the same problem we had with the moose in Vermont. We picked a good time to come to the beach. We had it too ourselves. (Nobody else was crazy enough to come out here). The wind gusts are predicted at 29 mph and temperature high is 58.
They allow horse camping here. We drove into the horse area.
No one was camping today, but there were horse manure signs. I told Allan I should get out and get a good smell to get my fix. Only horse people understand this.
Their cabins are called yurts. It has a wood floor, tents sides and roof. The roof has a dome on top for light. They have small and larger ones.
