This is a picture of the painted canyon. We were told that fires started from lightning or grass fires ignited coal veins which burned for many years and changed the color of the hills by baking them.
Here are a few bison we saw at Roosevelt National Park.
On our travels we saw fields with rows of trees. Not sure the purpose of these unless it is a wind or snow break.
We saw acres and acres of sunflowers.
We drove to Bismarck. Ernie and Missy, whom we had worked with in Texas this year, cooked a great meal and gave us a tour of the Bismarck area. We saw the capital building, the Missouri River, and Fort Abraham Lincoln where Custer served for a while. We went to church on Sunday and saw Ernie and Missy again. We left afterwards for Fargo. Allan made it to Mens Wearhouse just in time to get fitted for his tux. We were pooped. Think the high humidity here had an effect on us. It has probably been two years since we felt any humidity at this level. Needed a cold shower and some sleep.
Today was a long day in the truck. Katie was even vocal today. We drove south of Minneapolis and stayed at a nice campground. It has lots of room for the RV and slides and the truck. The weather is very hot, but after supper we drove to the Mall of America. Didn't do any shopping but walked around the amusement area and took some pictures.
